Project Mahia

Future Hope Charity Organization (FHCO) runs two orphanages in Kabul, caring for 111 children. These are children who have lost everything, but who still dream of becoming doctors, teachers and leaders.

In 2025 we launched Project Mahia to help them stay in school. Thanks to our donors, we:

  • Covered a month of tuition
  • Provided school supplies for the children
  • Brought smiles with a football tournament
  • Sent our donors a video of the children saying each of their names, in thanks
Tables piled with wrapped packs of school supplies, with children seated in the distance and a man in a waistcoat addressing them.

Tables of Hope

Tables of Hope was our Ramadan family food initiative. Our team went out to meet people working hard to survive, and offered food, groceries or a little cash, wherever it was needed.

On the blessed 27th night of Ramadan, we hosted a special iftar and served up to 1,500 people. Families, individuals and children came together to break their fast with dignity and warmth.

This was more than just a meal. It was a moment of unity, compassion and shared humanity.

Some of the people we met

  • A father whose wife had recently died, working while caring for two disabled children. His was the first family we supported.
  • A father of five who has lost both legs and one eye, and supports his family by selling phone credit.
  • A mother collecting wood for warmth and bottles to sell, with her young children beside her on the cold ground.
  • A woman selling spicy sauces on the street for 100–150 Afghanis a day, while her son works as a bus conductor.
  • An elderly man who pushes a wheelbarrow to earn a living. We gave him a month’s worth of groceries and essentials.
  • A young girl selling clothes on the street. Our team approached her as customers, and supported her that way.

How we work

One project at a time

We do not raise money for a general pot. Each project starts with a real cost:

  1. We find a need on the ground in Afghanistan.
  2. We get a quote for what it will take to meet it.
  3. We raise the money for that project.
  4. We deliver it and show you the results.
